About Barsana<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>Barsana is an ancient holy town & pilgrimage center located 150 KM’s away from New Delhi in Uttar Pradesh. Barsana is surrounded by a cluster of 120 villages. The villagers here are extremely poor and can barely afford one square meal a day. There are no medical facilities in this cluster. Due to their extreme poverty and lack of medical facilities they prefer to lead a life of blindness due to cataract. So to help them see, Bhaktivedanta Hospital initiated the efforts to reduce blindness through annual Eye Camp since 1992. Vision & dental issues amongst people are reported highest in this part of the cluster in India.<\/p>\n<\/div>
About Barsana Healthcare Centre<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>The initiative of the Barsana Healthcare Center had its seeds sown through Barsana Eye Camp. A group of doctors (who in turn founded the Bhaktivedanta Hospital later) & H. H. Radhanath Swami were on a pilgrimage to Barsana, Mathura Dist., UP in the year 1992 who identified the need to conduct eye camp to reduce needless blindness from the cluster of villagers surrounding Barsana. The camp became a regular feature after it received an over whelming response from the local communities & nearby villages in Barsana. The need & the magnitude of blindness triggered starting a full-fledged facility offering specialized Eye & Dental care under one roof to poor & the needy sections of the society in that area.<\/p>\n
The facility is currently equipped with an Eye OPD, Operation Theater (OT), Pharmacy & Optical Shop with plans to expand into a full-fledged dental facility in the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>
