When a building is made, for instance like a temple or a hospital, it remains for generations. Donating food, clothes is good, however in donations towards vastu (physical space) the benefits accrue even in your next life, because the seva has become permanent. The initiative of Bhaktivedanta Eye Hospital had its seeds sown through an Eye Camp in Barsana. In 1991, a group of doctors (who in turn founded Bhaktivedanta Hospital later) & H. H. Radhanath Swami were on a pilgrimage in Barsana and identified the pressing need to conduct eye camps to reduce needless blindness in Barsana & the surrounding villages.
Ever since 1992, annual eye & dental camps have been conducted in Barsana. In 2007, to provide monthly services, a well-equipped, 20 bedded hospital was also established in a rental premise. In 2011, this further grew to a round the year service and is still functioning in the Radha Madhav ashram.
The construction of the new hospital building on our 5-acre plot in Barsana, has started in May’22. In phase-I, the built -up area will be about 60,000 sq ft. The building is a RCC framed structure with stilt + ground floor + 2 floors.
When ready, the new 140 bedded hospital will have 4 state of art operation theaters, equipped with latest technology in ophthalmic surgery.
At the end of Dec’22, the ground floor slab had been cast and first floor slab will be cast soon. Brick masonry work in various parts of the building has also started.
How to contribute to the hospital construction
The Bhaktivedanta Eye Hospital strives to serve Radharani, by serving her beloved Brajwasis.
Your help towards the construction of Bhaktivedanta Hospital will provide a facility, where quality health-care services will be constantly available to Brajwasis and Braj Sadhus.
You can contribute to the hospital construction by sponsoring per square foot. Make endowments on your behalf or better still on behalf of your spouse, children, parents by sponsoring as little as one square foot for each person.
